2010 Formula 1 World Championship

Four new teams are joining F1 in 2010, Virgin, Lotus, Campos HRT and USF1. BMW Sauber lose the BMW bit, Toyota are no more, and Mercedes have jumped ship partnering with Brawn now.

Quite a mix up! Together with no refueling, and a new points system (see below), 2010 is going to be somewhat different to last year.

The season starts the second week of March in Bahrain, and finishes 18 races later in Abu Dhabi, with F1 visiting South Korea for the first time in October.

New Points System

New points system has been introduced to compensate for the increased number of teams on the grid for 2010. Here's what they'll score:

1st Place = 25 Points

2nd Place = 18 Points

3rd Place = 15 Points

4th Place = 12 Points

5th Place = 10 Points

6th Place = 8 Points

7th Place = 6 Points

8th Place = 4 Points

9th Place = 2 Points

10th Place = 1 Point
