He debuted in Formula BMW in 2005 and immediately dominated the championship and won the title comfortably. In 2006 he raced in German Formula 3 and A1GP winning 9 of the 20 races he competed in.
He competed in the Formula 3 Euroseries in 2007 and 2008, taking 3rd and 1st in the championship respectively. He also raced in GP2 Asia in 2008/9 for the ART Grand Prix team and has notched up several strong performances.
Debut & Williams (2010)
After the final of the 2009 F1 season Nicolas was announced as a driver for the Williams F1 Team going into 2010, partnering Rubens Barrichello. Nicolas had formally been the test driver at Williams, and had been since impressing at a test in December 2007.
