Williams Tester (2001-2004)

Unable to get a race seat for 2001 he joined Williams as a test driver, a role that he kept until the end of 2004. During that time he replaced the injured Ralf Schumacher in the 2003 Italian Grand Prix where he finished 5th, and the 2004 French and Brittish Grands Prix however he failed to score points on either of these occasions.

Ferrari Tester (2005-2009)

At the end of 2004 Marc signed as test driver for the Ferrari team, a job that he still shares with former teammate Luca Badoer (Minardi 1999), however new rules reducing the amount of testing allowed by teams has limited his track time with the Italian squad.

Outside F1

Marc won the 2009 Le Mans 24 hours driving for Peugeot with co-drivers David Brabham and Alex Wurz.
